Victorian Christmas Festival
Step back in time with the ancient Market town of Garstang's popular Victorian Festival which is held on Monday and Tuesday evening, the week before Christmas from 6.30pm onwards. The main High Street is closed to traffic and is filled with thousands of people roaming freely to grab last minute presents and enjoy the atmosphere of the true ‘sprit of Christmas’.
The festivities start with children singing and meeting Father Christmas! There is so much going on; many street entertainers, Dancers, Garstang’s own town crier, Punch and Judy, Choirs, Morris Dancers and a Brass Band to mention but a few.
We also have late night shopping with many businesses giving hospitality throughout the evenings, along with the many variety of stalls it is a great opportunity for late night shopping. Don’t forget the traditional Christmas Fayre such as roast chestnuts and hog roast to tantalise the taste buds.
Garstang Christmas Festival is a community event co-ordinated by Garstang Chamber of Trade and supported and organised by all Garstang’s local organisations.
