Nestling
near Garstang in the heart of the picturesque village of Scorton is the award winning Barn at Scorton,
one of the region’s finest examples of farm diversification. We are
a Plant Centre, Gift Shop, Coffee Shop and Orchard Garden and the
village’s main tourist attraction housed in
sympathetically restored, 19th Century stone barns.
Plant
Centre – We specialise in herbaceous perennials, both
rare varieties and old cottage garden varieties. There are also genuine
Old Roses. Our staff are trained in
horticulture to Degree level with wide ranging practical experience, they
are always approachable and keen to help you choose your plants.
Orchard
Garden - Following on from the plant centre is The Orchard
Garden, an oasis of colourful herbaceous borders open to the public, where
many of the plants on sale can be seen growing in their natural state.
Garden
Centre - There is a
conservatory stocked with a straight-forward range of goods that cover the
essentials of gardening, designed to make it simpler for the customer to
find what they need.
Gift
Shop - The
gift shop offers a huge range of gifts to suit all tastes and pockets.
Furnished with old dressers set against the original stone walls
there is a warmth and character. As well as offering
speciality jams, pickles
and preserves, Wallings famous ice-cream.
Coffee Bar - The hub
of the shop area is the Coffee Bar, sited in the old Shippon. We
serve cappuccino, espresso and filter coffees; speciality teas; soft
drinks; home baked cakes; home-made soup and the renowned home-made scones
as well as soup
and light lunches. The new upstairs gallery makes a snug
little hide-away.
You will find us between
Garstang and Lancaster just off the A6, turn off at either the Ball &
Hargreaves garage or the little chef.
To make life easier for customers The Barn has a large, free car park for the use of anyone who
shops there. With so much to offer the visitor, it is no wonder that
